We are so grateful to American Textile Company for donating sheet sets, plush pillows and cozy blankets for many different families in our community! On December 18th, Fox Families Care unpacked, sorted, bagged and delivered them to several different locations. Thank you ATC for providing comfort to so many this holiday season
On December 14th and 15th, Fox Families Care volunteered at Sharpsburg Family Worship Center’s Give-A-Gift Event. Our volunteers helped families shop for their children, wrap the presents, and stock the shelves.
On December 9th, our members, who were elves for the day, set up contactless drop off locations for the supporters of our Angel Trees. The community’s generosity was overwhelming and it was amazing to see how our community always comes through for each other. All gifts will be distributed to students in the Fox Chapel Area School District on December 14th.
Fox Families Care partnered with Operation Backpack, Volunteers of America, and Backpack for Hunger to host a Back to School Event. This free event included school supplies & backpacks, haircuts, food, games, and a rummage sale
On March 6, 2020, “For the Love of the Kids” gathered 100 members from the Fox Chapel Area community to take part in a paddle play day. This round robin play with friends, old and new, provided a fun morning while celebrating what we can all do together. Dr. Hower was our guest speaker at lunch. He provided insight to what we can do together and shared already what our charity has done! We were so honored that so many people were able to come and share this day with us. All money raised will go directly to the families in the Fox Chapel Area School District.
Thanks to Fox Chapel community members, we were able to put big smiles on many faces this holiday season. Children in need from Kerr Elementary, Ohara Elementary, Hartwood Elementary, Dorseyville Middle school and Fox Chapel Area High School received donated items from their wish list including winter coats, clothing, puzzles, books, and gift cards.
A big thank you to the organizers of Gifts and Girlfriends which was held December 4 at the Fox Chapel Racquet Club. Our group was able to share our mission and talk to women within the community about our cause. Each vendor graciously donated five percent of their sales to Fox Families Care. We are very grateful for their support.
In November, Fox Families Care had a kick-off fundraiser. This fantastic dinner, “Friendsgiving” was hosted by committee members Christy Redican and Dedee Wilson. Before sharing a meal, we had a warm welcome from President, Paulette O’Donnell sharing our mission. Emma Dieffenbach, Fox Chapel High School Dean of Students, shared some statistics about the school district and described ways our charity can help. Working directly with the school district we will be able to meet the needs of students and families at all schools.
